On wednesday the 26th of october 2011 the indian community celebrated Diwali the festival of lights. This festival is believed to be a victory where lights and brightness are the focus. Candles are used as a symbol of hope for all mankind. The whole place is decorated with candles. There are also fireworks used in a few countries to celebrate this festival of lights. This is the most awaited occasion by the indians as it strengthens the bond between family and friends. Diwali itself means lights, where brightness wins over darkness,the victory of good over evil. On Diwali day, it is customary to wear new clothes, eat sweets and light up fireworks and it also marks the beginning of a new year financially. Manoj Punjabi, the President director of MD Entertainment along with his family also celebrated Diwali at their residence in Menteng Jakarta after already doing the prayers at the MD office in Tanah Abang Jakarta. On that occasion, the entire crew, business partners, colleagues, media and artists all attended the prayers.So then how was the atmosphere on Diwali? Let's all have a glimpse into this celebration. Upon arrival at the venue of celebration, the guests were greeted by the valet parking facility so that the guests wouldn't have difficulty in parking their cars.
As soon as they entered the house, the guests were welcomed by the sweet fragrance of flowers and the warmth of the candles. After taking a few steps, four beautiful women dressed in saris greeted the guests and they helped in putting bindis on their foreheads and bangles which is an indian tradition. Mehendi was also provided for them to apply on their hands and feet by an indian mehendi expert. Not only that, special indian food for starters were displayed as the welcome snack. Walking along the candles and flowers, the guests enjoyed the feast of typical indian food such as roti canai, curry etc. Soft indian music was heard in the background to help the guests relax and interact with one another and everyone wished Manoj, Dhamoo Punjabi and the entire family a very happy diwali.At that time, the guests felt they were in india because the atmosphere was completely indian with everyone dressed in indian attire and indian decor. VIP's such as the ex governor of DKI Jakarta, Sutiyoso and his wife along with Harry Tanoesoedibjo and his wife Mien Uno were amongst the guests.
Many artists were present as well. Luna Maya, Tamara Bleszynski, Desy Ratnasari. Laudya Chyntia Bella, Shireen Sungkar, Manohara, Teuku Wisnu, Chicco Jerico, Adli Fairuz, Gunawan, Ari Wibowo, Primus – Jihan Fahira, Andrew Andhika, Chelsea Olivia, Donita, Dewi Sandrea, Marcell Chandrawinata, Mikha Tambayong, Randy Pangalila and many others were all there.
