After the success of a couple of soap operas such as ‘Aishiteru’, ‘Bulan di Atas Mentari’ etc which were launched this year together with MNC TV, MD entertainment is back with “Senggol – Senggol Asmara”, a soap filled with love conflicts and dangdut music. This soap was aired end November 2011 and has been quite appaling. Teuku wisnu has really been complimented for his acting skills. Wisnu, who plays the main character named Arya,for the first time his role will compete with other players, although, we know soap opera enthusiasts in our homeland are familiar with the nuances of romance generated by the acting of Teuku Wisnu. Apart from Wisnu, this soap is also starring Reza Pahlevi, Emma Waroka, Piet Pagau, Ranty Permatasari, Egi Fedly and also supported by Marina Sans, Karina Nabila, Kesha Ratuliu. This story comes wrapped in an unique scenario and interesting work of writer Dono Indarto. The launching of this soap by MD and MNC TV was held on monday the 21st of November 2011 at the MD office. It was attended by both the parties of MD and MNC TV and the press conference got a very good response. Manoj Punjabi, the President Director of MD Entertainment, SN. Suwisma - President Director MNC TV, Nana Putra - Managing Director MNC TV, Erwin Andersen - Sales and Marketing Director dan juga Vice President Programming & Production MNC TV - Ibu Endah Hari Utari were also present to give information to the media regarding this soap. So who is the one competing against Wisnu in this soap? Marina Sans is the new face playing the antagonist character named Ira. Besides being beautiful with good acting skills, Marina also has good vocal skills in playing Ira. With the skills she possesses, it is not surprising that the fans of this musical, the viewers of MNC TV will be familiar with the songs produced my MD. Marina will be singing the songs including the closing song in a duet with Saipul Jamiil.
This story is about Ira (Marina Sans ) a simple girl with a melodious voice. She is the daughter of Yunus ( Egi Fedly ). Mr Rasyid ( Piet Pagau ) is a good friend of her grandfather and Ira and her father have been staying at his pavilion ever since Ira's dad got bankrupt. She feels indebted to Rasyid and she looks after him and treats him like her own grandpa. Rasyid and his two grandchildren, Adinda ( Kesha Ratuliu) and Arya ( Teuku Wisnu ) also consider Ira as part of their family. Arya and Ira are brought up together and their friendship develops into love. Unfortunately, their love is not approved by Arya's mother, Ratri ( Emma Waroka ). Ratri feels that Ira doesn't deserve to be her daughter in law and she prefers Keysha ( Karina Nabila ), a city girl, to be Arya's wife. Ratri is unaware that Keysha and her mother Fanny ( Ranty Permatasari), are only interested in the wealth. They try to poison her mind so that she hates Ira and in that way, Arya and Ira get all the more distant. Ratri is not the only one to come in between Ira and Arya's love. Jacky ( Reza Pahlevi ) is the village thug and he considers Ira to be a source of money because of her golden voice. By taking advantage of Ira's father's bad habit of getting drunk, he makes the father pair him up with Ira. She manages to escape from this marriage but her struggle to become one with Arya doesn't end there. Finally in the end Ira is faced with two choices.Her love for Arya or her love of becoming a singer where she will have to sacrifice her love for Arya. Which one does she choose?
